Intranet Templates


Before you create a new page, find the template that works best for your business needs.
 
The two most common are the Default With Full Formatting and the News Item templates. Both are found in the Template Gallery called OneDOT.

Default With Full Formatting

The Default with Full Formatting template is the most common page you will use for your intranet Web site.

  1. Left Navigation
    • This placeholder allows you to manually enter site navigation.
    • Do not manually input all your site navigation - CMS dynamically creates navigation for you. This space is intended for links to other pages that can't be dynamically entered.
  2. Body of Page
    • Use this placeholder for the main body of your page.
    • No images larger than 510 pixels.

News Item

Use the News Item template when you want to post content to your region's Intranet news section.

  1. Left Navigation
    • This placeholder allows you to manually enter site navigation.
    • Do not manually input all your site navigation - CMS dynamically creates navigation for you. This space is intended for links to other pages that can't be dynamically entered.
  2. Image
    • The image placeholder is where you insert the image for your News summary page. This image will appear on your news home page.
    • The image should be no wider than 150 pixels and web optimized .
  3. Summary
    • The decscription placeholder is where you input your story teaser or introduction. Your text should be concise, interesting and draw the reader into your news story.
  4. News Item
    • Input your news story into the main news item placeholder.
    • Make sure to spell-check
  5. News Story Photo
    • Use the right-hand placeholder if you'd like to insert a photo to help tell your story.
    • Photos in this placeholder should be no larger than 200 pixels wide.
    • If you have an image that you need to be more than 200 pixels wide, consider putting it in the main news body. Images should be no larger than 510 pixels (anything larger will not print on standard 8.5 x 11)
    • Make sure your photo has a clear, concise caption and an alt-tag .
