TUMWATER - Effective February 5, 2007 safety screening for vehicles with transponders will be done using the carrier Inspection Selection System (ISS) Inspection Value. The ISS Inspection Value is based on the motor carrier's safety performance data. Carriers with an ISS Inspection Value of more than 75 will receive a red light.
Carrier ISS Inspection Values are available by accessing the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Assistance (FMCSA) web site at: http://www.safersys.org/ . At the site, look under FMCSA Searches and click on SafeStat On Line. At SafeStat On Line enter the carrier US DOT number under “Search for Motor Carrier Safety Fitness Information” and then click on “Search”. When the Search page appears click on “Link to Click to View ISS-2 Recommendation ISS 2”. The ISS Inspection Value should be displayed in the box on the upper left of the screen.
