The Commercial Vehicle Services office offers a variety of services. The staff can help you to obtain permits to move an oversize load, move an unlicensed vehicle and more. In addition, the office sells transponders for commercial vehicles that allow for electronic by-pass of Washington State Patrol (WSP) weigh stations and electronic payment of tolls at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Many of your permit needs can be obtained online quickly and without the hassle of driving to a WSDOT office or agent. Carriers can visit Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) site and print an application for a transponder that allows trucks to by-pass weigh stations by electronically verifying a truck's weight and credentials at highway speeds. This same transponder can be used for tolling at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
