The Business Division provides a vital support role for State Materials Lab and administrative support and guidance to six Region Materials Labs, including:
- Cost Recovery : rate development, recovery monitoring and reporting, strategy and change implementation, billing and training in cost recovery
- Accounting and Administrative : budgeting, payables, receivables, payroll and purchasing
- Laboratory Testing Equipment : acquisition, inventory, replacement and disposal
- Information Technology (IT): workstation, network, and software support; new technology implementation
- State Materials Lab Library : technical research, reference services, acquisition of publications, resource sharing, and general library functions
- Facilities Management : building interiors and exteriors, fixtures, lab testing equipment, HVAC, grounds, vehicles, employee safety, and emergency response
- Hazardous Waste Management : storage, inspection, disposal, record keeping and compliance management for environmental regulations
