During the 2005 Session, the Legislature passed 2SSB 6480, which requires WSDOT to implement an apprenticeship utilization requirement in WSDOT construction contracts. This bill phases in the apprenticeship provision and called for the Secretary of Transportation to create and convene an Apprenticeship Utilization Advisory Committee (Committee's Report to the Legislature (pdf 3mb).
