State Route 240: Project delivery over the last five years

SR 240 corridor links Interstate 182 with the US Department of Energy's Hanford site, the Columbia Center commercial areas, and east Kennewick's industrial zones.  The project serves auto and vanpool commuters and is a bicycle corridor.   Once the corridor is completed, this six-mile section be six lanes wide, with realigned ramps and a new pedestrian/bicycle path.  These improvements along with other minor safety work will relieve congestion and improve overall safety.

Major projects recently completed or under way on the SR 240 corridor represent an aggregate budget for construction of approximately $65.2 million.  With work on the projects at various stages of completion, the current estimate of the total final cost of construction for these projects is slightly over (1%) of budget at $66.1 million.
