2006 Congestion Report - Seattle to Bellevue (via I-90)

The two graphs below display the percent of days on each route when traffic speeds fell below 35 mph. The darker line shows data for 2005. The lighter line shows data for 2003.

Morning Bellevue to Seattle via I-90 graph displays 2005 data averaging around 20% between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. compared to 2003 data of 18% between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Afternoon Seattle to Bellevue via I-90 graph shows 2005 data peaking around 40% between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m compared to 2003 data peaks of 35% around 5:30 p.m.

The graph below displays highway productivity for a specific point along this route. When the line is at 100%, the maximum number of vehicles per hour are travelling through this point. Any time the line dips below 100%, the system is not operating at 100% efficiency.

I-5 at I-90 graph shows 2005 data dropping to around 30% between 6:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. and to a low of 40% at 6:45 p.m. bewteen 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. compared to 2003 data of lows around 45% between 6:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 50% between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and 60% between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
